Where the News, Sports, and Opinion Collide
ABOUT MYSELF:
I am 36 years old and am a freelance writer. I started writing when I was in middle school and have advanced from notebooks, to a blog, and now my own web site. I have always had something to say, and have a tendency to put it down on paper, as most people are to busy (in their daily lives and own plight) to stop and talk in person. However, when things are put to paper, they last forever. This is where my web site comes in, as "The Thought Spigot", gives me and anyone who does want to take the time to hear/read what I have to say. I hope you enjoy the pieces I have put to this site, as much as I have had writing all of them.
A little bit about me is definitely appropriate, as I am asking you to take time to read what I write, come to trust me (or at least verify what I do write), and it is your time (which you could be doing something else). I went to college, where I majored in English and minored in Theology. I also played baseball and basketball, thru college, and into summer leagues (these subjects tend to be what I write about, as you can see, politics, theology, ethics/morality, and sports. I am also a huge animal lover. I have a black lab (one of her puppies above), a collie mix (rescue dog), three fish, six cats (which stay outside, because I am allergic to them, but they are all rescue cats and I couldn't turn them away), plus a whole bunch of wild animals I feed and take care of on my property (everything from deer, coyotes, and the smaller birds and critters).
God and His plan for me is my main focus in life. I am a Christian man, who believes in the Bible, Christ and his rising from the tomb, and the Trinity. This, coupled with a consistant focus on living in the present (with short, medium, and long range goals, to work toward), is what sustains me. The past is something to draw from, but I can do nothing about mistakes, or good times. The future is not guaranteed to anyone and no one (but God) knows what will/can happen. Therefore, the present is where I dwell, to the best of my ability.
Finally, I do not want to take up a huge amount of your time, as it is precious. Though, I should finish by saying, anyone is more than welcome to write to me about anything you wish. Commenting on my articles (whether we agree, or disagree), anything I have said/will say, or if you just wish to talk and find out a little bit more about me. I am the only one who owns, writes, and has access to this web site, so just reach out with the below email address. Which brings me to the email address, and the name on it. "DMAN" is not what it looks like, as in "Da-Man." Through the sports I played and other reasons in life, my father called me "DMAN" (as my last name starts with a "D" and instead of just saying, "Hey man." My father just made a nickname of "DMAN"). I also wanted to keep this web site free of my name, where I live, and as much as I can anonymous. Therefore, when you do email me, with any comments at all, just address me as "DMAN" and in the subject line, "The Thought Spigot" (or whatever you feel).
